See the film the great Orson Welles considered his best on the big screen in a new restoration!

Join us in observing the 100th anniversary of the death of the incalculably influential writer Franz Kafka with a screening of one of the most ingenious adaptations of his work. Anthony Perkins stars as Josef K, an ordinary office worker who wakes one morning to detectives (or are they?) informing him he is under arrest for an unspecified crime; however, he is not taken into custody. Instead, he finds himself embroiled in an absurd and darkly comic series of twists and turns, trying to peel back the layers of a menacing bureaucracy in order to defend himself against charges that are never defined. Also starring Jeanne Moreau, Romy Schneider, and Welles himself as The Advocate. (118 mins., DCP)
